Erzsébet Udvardi was born in Baja on 27th December 1929. Her father was LázárUdvardi, a teacher of mathematics and phisics. Her mother was called Emma Kovács.
She finished elementary school in the Catholic girl school of Baja commemorated to Mary.
Between 1948 and 1953 she studied at the Fine Art Academy of Budapest. Apart from Aurélon Bernáth she was taught by Endre Domanovszky Endre, Géza Fónyi and Gyula Heincz. After graduating from the academy she started teacging drwing and art history in the Leöwey Klára Teachers' training college.
Since 1958 she has lived in Badacsonytomaj. She has been taking part in exhebitions since 1953.
Her art rewards: 1960. Derkovits prize 1966. Egry-prize 1969. Munkácsy-prize 1975. Merited Artist 1981. Excellent artist 1989. St Fortunatus Knight-prize 1992. For Hungarian Arts-prize 1999. Kossuth-prize 2002. Hungarian Heritage-prize
