Porcelain is a material evoking eternity. If given proper care and attention, it can be something we can be proud of in our home for long… possibly for generations. Hence a unique opportunity: inscriptions to preserve a memory for good. In accordance with local tradition, the inscriptions are applied to the bottom of the objects, in varying colours including gold, and the font type is selected from the available types of print. Inscriptions will be positioned following customer instructions, or if there is no special request, we will be happy to design the actual layout. Inscriptions can also be applied subsequently to products available in shops, making them the right choice as a special present for special occasions.

Applying initials is another possibility with Herend, albeit choices are more limited than in the case of inscriptions. Our policy is for initials to blend with existing ornamental Herend patterns. (for example: for OR and its colours to replace the tulip, or in the case of the Apponyi or Rothschild pattern, to replace the tiny scattered motif or the small flower. It is recommended that the initials are placed on the ensign attached to the bottom of the plates. Service maker

Our products are truly unique but if you prefer something even more exclusive, we are happy to fulfil your request. Our rules for the application of blazons are identical with those in the case of initials.

As Picasso put it "Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun." Herend is a bit like that. Our master painters will apply your portrait to porcelain or that of a person special to you. Is there anything more exclusive and eternal than having someone's portrait on a Herend piece?

Portraits can be placed on plates, dishes or the mirror of vases. The Manufactory has been producing porcelain items with the portrait of famous people on it since the 19th century.

As no constraint can be put on the creative force, which is eternal and free, Herend will not limit the imagination, and thus creative thinking either. All ideas of our customers that are motivated by good taste will be supported.

Office buildings, castles, mansions, museums are often painted on white Herend products but pets are also a recurring motif. Dream your dreams in the style of Herend.

High-class products deserve exclusive packaging. Herend will not disappoint you in this respect, either: Safety during delivery will be secured by functionally appropriate ornamented boxes, stylish bags and wrapping material, also making use of the colours representing Herend’s image by fulfilling the needs of elegant appearance.

Herend offers a warranty for its products purchased in its official brand stores by certifying that the product you have purchased has been manufactured and painted by hand and in perfect quality – the technique of which has been unchanged since the company’s foundation in 1826 – by retaining our best traditions of craftsmanship and art. Our products can be identified by a form number, a decor name and some other identifying characters important for us, so we can re-create items manufactured in the past, should you need them at any one time. One of Herend’s key strengths is that any piece can be replaced whenever needed. We can re-produce any object proved to have been manufactured by Herend, regardless of when it was made.

As items need to be fired following their decoration by porcelain paint, the decoration will be burned into the surface of these products. Consequently, the decoration on our high quality porcelain products is safely protected: their surface is resistant to scratch, wear and chemicals. Our table service products can, therefore, be cleaned in an automatic dishwasher. The quality of our porcelain items is in line with Hungarian and international health regulations. At the same time, the use of Herend porcelain products in microwave ovens is forbidden.
