We opened the last seasonal exhibition of the year at the Herend Porcelain Museum on October 14th, open to visitors until February 28, 2009. Interested visitors may view photographs exuding a special atmosphere by photographer Árpád Csikós – a member of the judges’ panel of last autumn’s photography contest. In addition to a few nudes, portraits, still lifes and urban photographs, the unique character of the exhibition is assured by the presence of 15 photographs that were taken at the Herend Porcelain Manufactory.

The opening ceremony kicked off with the play of cellist Bálint Kövi, followed by the keynote address of Dr. Endre Kőrös, the president of the curatorial staff of the museum, who greeted those present. The exhibitor also made a statement, but the guests who have attended were naturally most anticipatory of the sentences of praise of the world renowned organist, Xavér Varnus. Árpád Csikós has been photographing the master of the organ for a long time. Xavér Varnus’s charming anecdotes and sentences have tried to illustrate the thousand faces of art from a slightly different point of view.

We shall be awaiting your visit, as late as the advent of spring, with special photographs in the seasonal exhibition halls of the Herend Porcelain Museum.
