10. September 2008.
Out of the races held on September 7, 2008 at the racecourse called Kincsem Park, two races were sponsored by Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
The 1600 m Imperial – Herend race ended with an easy victory by Steady As A Rock, invincible to date in Hungary, the jockey being Zoltán Varga. The Herend Cup was handed over by Mr. Tivadar Farkasházy and CEO Attila Simon. Kincsem Prize, the other Herend-sponsored race proved to be the most exciting race this year. At the end of a spectacular 2400 m sprint, Proud Boris of Slovakia finished 1st with the Austrian Italian Stallion and Prometheus, a former winner of one of the first places at the Derby, finishing 2nd and 3rd , respectively.
Much to the joy of fans attending the race, Overdose, unbeatable to date, was shown around between the two Grand Prix races. This purebred stallion, which has won every race so far finishing by a lead nothing less than huge, is often compared to Kincsem. The horse, winner of the recent Goldene Peitsche race, has been given some time to rest now and will start preparing next week for the sprint race to be held in Paris. Overdose has a track record of 10 races so far all over Europe with 10 victories. His current value is at GBP 3 million. In appreciation of the horse's victories, Herend Porcelain Manufactory has produced a specially decorated plate with a picture of Overdose, and this majestic item has now been given by dz Attila Simon as a gift to Mr Zoltán Mikóczy, owner of the 'magic horse'.
Herend, known for its individuality and world-class achievement in craftsmanship, now hails the winners, wishing Overdose good luck, further successful racing and a victorious career for the future.
