The winners of the Formula 1 Budapest Grand Prix were able to raise an exclusive, extraordinary “Hungaricum”. The winners have received Herend porcelain victory trophies for the third year in a row.

Not having changed the shape of the vases, we have, for the third year used the same neoclassicist style evoking the shape of ancient vases. However, the decoration adorning the vases has been different every year. The most well known sights of Budapest - the Buda Castle in 2006, the Parliament in 2007, and the Fishermen’s Bastion in 2008 – have been symbolized on the vases. The execution of these paintings required the extraordinary skills of master painters, as the paintings had to be painted on the curved surface of the vase so that the curvature would not distort the view depicted.

In the case of the ornamental bowl of the constructors the artisanship is even more noble thanks to the professional skill of the artisans at the wheel, as the reticulated edge of the bowl requires the best of their skill and knowledge.

This year’s Hungarian Grand Prix was a memorable and special competition. The winners of this superlative sport, the king of technical sports, raised their Herend Trophies into the air with joy and glory.

In addition to the victory and glory, winners are proud owners of Herend Winners’ Trophies.
1. Heikki Kovalainen / McLaren-Mercedes
2. Timo Glock / Toyota
3. Kimi Raikkönen / Ferrari

The winner of the constructors’ competition is McLaren Mercedes.
