Letters of thanks relating to the events of the past few months
There might be an element of truth in the saying that a letter is more telling than any piece of news purposefully generated – we now match, as it were, that wisdom with the letters that follow.
We hereby make public the content of the letter of thanks addressed to our company following a major event early this summer, the exhibition of Herend porcelain items, the venue of which was the Tzarskoe Selo, formerly the summer residence of Russian Tsars, along with another letter by Kateryna Yushchenko, wife of the President of the Ukraine, which she wrote following her recent visit to Herend. Both are, dare we say, significant in the "follow-up role" they play in interpreting up-to-date news and information regarding us.
Letter of thanks from the Tzarskoe Selo

Dear Mr Simon,
It is with the most sincere respect that I, on behalf of my colleagues, would like to thank you and all those involved in the preparation of the exhibition entitled "Herend porcelain – Ornament on the table of Royals" for making an invaluable contribution to turning the exhibition into one of the most spectacular events organised by the Tzarskoe Selo Museum Foundation during the summer of 2007. The significance of this exhibition was particularly special for our museum as it was both an equal and a worthy accompaniment to our own collection of porcelain items, the history of which dates back to a few hundred years.
Herend porcelain, this famed representative of the art of porcelain manufacturing in Hungary, made an unprecedented appearance in St. Petersburg, proving to the visitors of Russia beyond the shade of a doubt that the enthusiasm evident in the interest for Herend items is well-founded. There were over 5000 visitors making a tour of the exhibition halls in the Zubov wing of the Catherine Palace, to see the works of the masters of the world famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
The high light – and the most popular element as well – of the exhibition was, strictly speaking, not the fact that it was an opportunity for our visitors to see items from the 19th century; rather, the fact that visitors were able to identify that particular touch of modernism in the pieces displayed which coincides with what Herend stands for today.
This exhibition became a site of pilgrimage for visitors with a refined taste for art this summer.
Hoping that our future cooperation will bring similarly fruitful results,
Yours Sincerely,
Ivan P. Sautov
Director of the Tzarskoe Selo Museum Foundation

To Chief Executive Officer Mr Attila Simon
Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt.
Dear Mr Simon,
My impressions were particularly delightful after my visit to the Porcelanium, where I had a unique opportunity to have a better understanding of the masterpieces created by the artists of the Herend Manufactory that represent various styles of art.
This interesting tour provided an insight into the process of top quality porcelain making, which has its own history and traditions, and is inimitable in its originality.
I have always been and will be an admirer of Herend items.
Top quality Herend products and their fineness of style enrich our family collection and will always remind me of my unforgettable trip to the porcelain country.
Wishing you happiness and success in your work.
My most sincere respect and best wishes,
Kateryna Yushchenko (m.p.)
