Unique Herend Ornaments for the Best of Formula One Grand Prix

Herend porcelain is sold worldwide in over 50 countries where it has become synonymous with exclusivity, artistic perfection and luxury. It is thus hardly surprising that the organisers of the Hungarian Grand Prix chose to present the winners of the race with Herend porcelain, so that they will be reminded of their outstanding efforts at the Hungaroring by truly unique works of art.

The shape of the Neoclassical Herend vase made for the winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix evokes ancient urns. It stands on a high base, has gilded handles pierced like lace and is adorned on the neck by the mark of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. One of Budapest's best-known scenes, the Chain Bridge arching over the Danube with the Royal Palace of Buda Castle behind is painted on the front of the vase. The artist who painted the picture needed all his exceptional skills to ensure that the curves of the vase do not distort the landscape. The ornamental vase made for the Grand Prix, commemorating the 21st great race in Hungary, is the very essence of the art of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. The Herend Team Trophy Wall Plate was also produced by the artists and craftsmen of Herend for presentation to the winning team. The plate, which is 52 cm in diameter, also depicts the landscape of the Chain Bridge and the Royal Palace of Buda Castle.
