The first Herend shop in Shanghai has opened

At the end of July, the first ever Herend shop opened in China's largest city, Shanghai. It was set up in co-operation with Herend Porcelain Manufactory's Chinese partner.

This is regarded as a serious "feat" in the profession, since China is the ancient home of porcelain. The Chinese began manufacturing porcelain over 1000 years ago, in contrast to Europe which only learned the technique in 1709.
Shanghai, with its population of 12 million, is one of the most dynamically growing metropolises in the world. This world city amazes visitors with its skyscrapers, energy and wide range of goods.

The 80 square metre Herend shop has opened in one of the best shopping centres in Shanghai, and its range of products is expanding continuously. The shop will only open officially at the end of September.

The Chinese partner is convinced that a new Herend shop will open soon in China's capital, Beijing.
