The 17th world carriage driving championship took place in Kecskemét, Hungary from July 4th to July 8th.

This international equestrian event took place at the Széktói Stadium and Recreational Centre, where 54 drivers competed from 18 countries.

Carriage driving stands out in equestrian sport for its organisation, spectacle and elegance.
The Manufactory decided to lend its support precisely because of these core values, and the event was followed with immense Hungarian and international interest. Taking this into account, Herend offered four valuable prizes for the world championship.
As we had hoped, Hungarian competitors enjoyed success, with the young Hungarian trio of Zoltán Lázár, László Kecskeméti and József Dobrovitz winning the gold medal, while Zoltán Lázár won a silver in the individual event. It was only Michael Freund who foreran him.

It is a special pleasure for the Herend Manufactory that Zoltán Lázár won the championship, as the Manufatory has been nurturing long term tourism-based relations with the Horse-Park in Domonyvölgy lead by the Lázár-brothers.
