The Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. held its annual general assembly on May 27. The general assembly approved with an overwhelming majority the Manufactory's balance sheet report for the year 2003 and determined that the taxed profit be used to finance current assets.

After adopting the 2004 business plan, the general assembly elected Róbert Izsó, a candidate fielded by the employees, to become a member of the Board of Directors. Readers may well remember that for lack of employee backing no employee candidate had been elected onto the Board of Directors at March extraordinary general assembly.

In keeping with tradition, 10 professional awards based on the Manufactory's own system of incentives were handed over. József Kovács, the Manufactory's previous managing director who retired in November 2003, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
