The President of the German Republic, Johannes Rau, is in Hungary at the invitation of the President of the Hungarian Republic, Ferenc Mádl.
On Wednesday, the presidential delegation paid a visit to the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. The guests were received by President Ferenc Mádl, as well as by Chairman of the Board Csaba László, CEO Sándor Polányi and deputy CEO Robert Somogyi
The distinguished guests marvelled at some of the production workshops and porcelain figurine painting.
The guests then inspected the commercial show room, where they signed the Herend guest book flanked by the two meter tall vase prepared for the European Union and other ornamental objects specially created to pay tribute to Hungary's accession to the Union.
The ladies of the delegation then set off to visit the Bishop's Palace and Old City in Veszprém.
