25. February 2010.
The 2010 Frankfurt trade fair caused a few surprises for exhibitors and visitors alike.
A new hall has been added to the exhibition venue. Subjects and themes were displayed in an entirely new arrangement. Previously occupying five floors, this year table culture was concentrated on three. In consequence, Herend Porcelain Manufactory awaited visitors with new neighbours: within the theme of “Table Prestige” it found itself alongside exhibitors forming part of the Fine Dining target group. A completely new Herend stand provided a refreshing modern framework to the exhibition, whose central theme was provided by products made in the “150 year-old Rothschild decor” theme. Crafted on the basis of its original museum-piece predecessors, this new service decor was displayed on a large three-metre centrally positioned table. On show next to it was a nearly 90 cm white and, unusually for Herend, unpainted decorative vase richly adorned with appliqué birds, flowers and vines.
International visitors came literally from every corner of the world. Besides Australian, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Korean guests, we greeted a good number of customers from Venezuela and Russia, as well from Europe. Based on preliminary estimates, by the end of the fair we registered a larger number of orders than last year.
