“… the castle folk are getting ready for luncheon”

Herend Porcelain Manufactory evokes the aristocratic atmosphere of the end of the 19th century at the most beautiful castles of Hungary. With a splendid, set table, interior sets from the era, including numerous aristocratic accessories that were in use at the time, and masterpieces that could also be valued as historical imprints today.
The company undertakes this mission as a means of commemoration as well: Among the Herend decors, a number carries the name of a famous, first purchaser to this day. This is how Herend expresses its respects to its prominent customers who played an outstanding role in the growth of the initial years.
From the western border all the way to the eastern one, we seek out the most beautiful castles – primarily those that have proven ties to Herend - so that we can present life as it may have been at the end of the 1800s at Hungarian castles. We implement a "homecoming" of sorts of Herend pieces into the environment where their first purchaser used and admired them - the place where they were components of day-to-day life.
Herend Porcelain Manufactory is a part of the Hungarian Heritage, for years carrying out a voluntary cultural mission as well. Beyond evoking the past, the objective of the present exhibition series also highlights our decaying architectural heritage. We have gorgeous castles, all worthy of more attention! Please join us; get to know them and meet Herend in the Castle.
