Exhibition of the Herend Workshop of Fine Arts
- 09. August 2007. - 30. August 2007.
In 1999 the Herend Workshop of Fine Arts was established under the auspices of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., dedicated to facilitate the creative activities of porcelain painters, potters and modellers, under the leadership of Mr Tibor Kádár, artist painter.
Starting with a studio of 18-20 participants by now the circle grew narrow and covers a tighter, stimulating group of 10-12 attendants.
The workshop operates according to a detailed program, considered as a fundamental artist's training.
The main objective and target is the observation of nature and man, to broaden and deepen knowledge of art history, to study and elaborate colour and composition issues both in theory and practice.
Regular visitations to museums and exhibitions in Hungary and abroad (Budapest, Vienna, Dresden) as well, promote their professional work. These are not simple attendances rather open classes in the closeness of artworks.
In July 2006 the art colony spent almost a fortnight in Torockó (Rimetea) - which lies nestled in the heart of Transylvania, in a narrow valley in the West Carpathian Mountains - hosted at Saint Theresa Orphanage. The charm of Torockó and they sedulity resulted in almost hundred paintings to picturesque the landscape. Creaming them off, the main part of this exhibition was born.
The other part of the exhibition is a display of plans which do not really belong to the workshops's field of activity, but were merely influenced by a strong intention to be a help for the Manufactory's future time.
The now sketches on paper created thereinafter on porcelain surface, could be a birth date of such décor collections like today the world-famous Apponyi or Victoria are.
The attendants of the workshop appear at amateur events of fine art on a regular basis, in terms of numerous solo and collective exhibitions.
