On 5 June 2008 Chancellery Minister Péter Kiss presented the National Quality Prizes of 2007 in Parliament

Fourteen organizations and business enterprises, along with two individuals received the European National Quality Prizes, including the Recognition of Excellence, the Commitment for Excellence and the Ambassador of National Quality Prize in Parliament.

A special feature of the event was that for the first time ever the new National Quality Prize that was awarded was a porcelain work created by the applied artists of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory.

The Minister emphasized in his comments that at present, enhancing the competitiveness of organizations is crucial for continuous development and survival. One of the key elements of this is recognizing organizational excellence by an internationally accepted standard embodied by the National Quality Prize, founded in 1996 by a Prime Ministerial Decree.

The certificate and the small sculpture proffered for this purpose by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory was presented by Chancellery Minister Péter Kiss and by Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Ministry for National Development and Economy Gábor Gérnyi.

It is worth noting that the first National Quality Prize was awarded to the Herend Porcelain Manufactory in 1996 in the category of large companies in recognition of its outstanding achievements in quality improvement.

The Ambassador of National Quality Prizes were also presented at the ceremony. The prize - an art piece also made for this occasion by Herend – is portrayed in the picture below.
