HEREND PORCELAIN when presented to the All-Star Guest of the Budapest Opera Ball

Following the former traditions, the miracle of the carnival season happens year by year: on the 10th February 2007 the stage and the auditorium of the Opera House transformed to the most beautiful ballroom of Hungary. Among the star guests of the first years of the event were Catherine Deneuve, Katarina Witt, Gina Lollobrigida and this year Daryl Hannah, American actress helped the success of the show.

Besides this Charity Event, Daryl Hannah has visited Budapest once before and felt in love with the city.

And as a memory what else she could take home with her as a Herend Porcelain vase? The vase in neoclassic style, calling the shape of the ancient times and decorated with the Rothschild décor, which has retained its popularity worldwide to this day. The several branches of the baronial Rothschild family, who gave their name to the pattern, regularly ordered services in the décor from the 1850s onwards. The Rothschild pattern is one of the most famous of Herend's historic décors.

The Herend Porcelain has been treasured for 180 years up now and sold today in 50 countries of the world, is equal to fine art and luxury. It has been awarded regurarly during the histrory of the Manufactory to the representatives of the art society, as the Manufactory itself is the second home to the artists since its foundation.

On the other hand, the Celebrities of today play an important role in manifold shaping of the upcoming generation's sense and taste to fine and distintictive arts. As they echo the voice of our times.

A social event has been reborn where the leading persons of the middle class that is to say the Hungarian culture, knowledge, power and money meet one another each year. The opera ball representing this tradition has become the largest and most important meeting of the participants of the Hungarian public life winning the keenest attention of the public opinion already the first time. The social, business and political importance of the Budapest Opera Ball strengthens every year. By now, the number of international guests attending the Opera Ball exceeds any other balls in the country. Among distinguished visitors the Oprea Ball had the honour to welcome former Prime Minister of France accompanied by his wife as the head of the Rotschild Dinasty, Baron Guy de Rothschild.
