In the modern history of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, its export markets play an exceptional role. In Europe, Italy takes the lead incontrovertibly. And 2007 marches in Herend's history as the 'Year of Italy'. As Herend Porcelain has just reached Genoa, the largest Italian port: INFLUENCE OF THE ORIENT ON EUROPEAN PORCELAIN MANUFACTORIES - an exhibition, where the Manufactory displays its most beautiful far-eastern style items in Muzeo d'Arte Orientale Edoardo Chiossone and in Palazzo Rosso - Musei di Strada Nuova.
Moreover, there will be tea-parties in the most renowned pastry shop of Genoa, the MANGINI, where time goes by with having the perfect tea in your cup of Herend Porcelain. Herend masters take you behind the scenes of porcelain-making while demonstrating their craft in retail shops of Herend's partners. In Genoa there are three shops selling the Herend assortment: Fidar, Pecchioli and Gismondi. Over and above, as a special event in the shops, painters of the Manufactory apply on your body or nail your favourite Herend décor.
The Herend Porcelain Manufactory invited the students of the UNIVERSITY of ARCHITECTURE, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DEPARTEMENT for a competition to design forms and décors fitting to Herend. Not to mention, the Manufactory do hope, it attracts large attendance and many practicable plans. The announcement of the results will be this December, the winners will be awarded with precious Herend Porcelain.
For a long-long period of time, the Manufactory's partner in Italy is the B. Morone S.p.a. in Milan, managed by Mrs Franca Morone. More than hundred retailers sell Herend Porcelain all over Italy. In addition, from the 4000 décors of the Manufactory's assortment, the widest range is sold in Italy.
