Fashion Show With Herend Patterns
The Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal is one of the few venues in Budapest where elegance, exclusivity and tradition are teamed with high quality service. In early November the hotel hosted a spectacular event showcasing unique and original garments, jewellery and watches.
The fashion show by János Héjja featured the designer's 2006 winter collection, and the well-known Hungarian models presenting his simply cut and feminine pieces wore jewels from Baraka Jeweller's. The event was all the more special as it was the first time that the unique clothes adorned with well-known and lovingly hand-painted Herend patterns such as Apponyi, Viktória, Rothschild and Wiener Rose, as well as a stylised Chinese vase, 'Siang Noir', had been on show to the public.
How did the Herend Porcelain Manufactory and the eminent designer find each other?
They do have a lot in common such as a corporate philosophy of producing hand-crafted unique objects of extremely high quality using first-class materials for the most discerning customers. The clothes are hand-made every step of the way, and thus each piece is made to order, resulting in a very exclusive clientele. For the first time the designer, most famous for his wedding dresses, also featured evening dresses and a collection of outer garments. The uniqueness of the garments is enhanced by the Herend patterns painted onto the delicate fabrics. The special wedding dress decorated in the 'Wiener Rose' pattern was modelled by Panni Epres, one of Hungary's most popular models.
Valente of Milan, which in recent years has become an haute couture jeweller's, created a collection of sophisticated shapes enlivened by bright colours. Hand-made timepieces prepared with meticulous care by the famous German Glashuette also featured at the event.
