The jubilee Fifth Herend Cup Golf Competition and Family Picnic Day was held on May 22nd at the Old Lake Golf Club in Tata.

The Herend Cup has grown into one of the largest golf competitions in Hungary. Despite the bleak weather, over eighty people turned up on Saturday May 22nd to compete.
Despite the weather being cooler than usual for late May, over six hundred guests graced the event, including many public personalities.
One of the most popular programmes was again the Herend Heptathlon, the principal stages of which were quiz questions posed by our principal partners, Raiffeisen Bank Rt. Vodafone Hungary Rt. and Carl Zeiss Hungária Kft. There was also a porcelain demonstration in the Herend tent.
In Raiffeisen Bank's tent, visitors could test whether they have the makings of a talented investor with the aid of a special computer simulator programme!
MB Autó Hungary Kft. granted guests the first official showing of the new SLK model; in addition, those attending could test drive eight Mercedes.
The French master chef of the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal produced a special cooking show. Afterwards, our many guests could take pleasure in a sushi demonstration.
Another thing of note was the entrance to the Herend tent where two colleagues of the Halas Lace Foundation (a member of the Hungaricum Club) gave a demonstration of the difficult and meticulous craft of sewing lace.
Special thanks goes to Swiss International Air Lines Kft., who contributed to the success of the event with a valuable prize, as well as to SAP Hungary Kft.
Guests could also wash down delicacies prepared by the chefs of the Apicius restaurant with Pepsi Cola and Gösser beer.
